YogaAbout me
I came to Yoga reluctantly, having told a friend I was far too stressed and busy to attend class with her(!) Thankfully, my friend did not give up and when I finally took part in my first session, it felt like coming home to a place I had forgotten was within me. Perhaps Yoga feels, or could feel, this way to you too.
As my Yoga years have gained in number, I have become steadily and increasingly more passionate about the transformative power of a holistic Yoga practice. I found, and continue to find, that establishing a regular practice has given me a roadmap for living, helping me to better inhabit and have kinship with my body, as well as teaching me the agency I have with my mind and breath. It is my aim to share this experience of Yoga with my students.
I teach a Hatha style practice which includes breathwork to stretch and strengthen the muscles of breathing, posture work where strength is built and flexibility is found by holding positions to target specific areas of the body, meditation to develop strength, stability and clarity of mind, and relaxation practices to reset and restore. My teaching is infused with both Yoga philosophy and Buddhist teachings.
As well as classes, workshops, courses and special evening retreats, I can offer bespoke one-to-one and small group sessions, where I will work with you to create a session to meet your needs. Bespoke sessions can incorporate all aspects of practice, or focus solely on one area, such as breathwork or meditation. I can also work with you to create an achievable and sustainable home practice.
All of my offerings are delivered with inclusiveness in mind. I teach a staged approach so whatever your starting point there will be appropriate challenge available. I welcome those new to Yoga and those more experienced.
