Manual Lymphatic Drainage
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) therapy is an advanced, but gentle form of massage, designed to improve symptoms of fluid retention and circulation of the lymphatic system. This is primarily achieved through very light, rhythmical movements of the skin, which stimulate the contraction of the lymphatic vessels. As a result the lymphatic system is encouraged to work more efficiently.
MLD alleviates fluid congestion and retention, remedying symptoms such as:
- Swollen legs and ankles (often during pregnancy).
- Tired puffy eyes or water retention due to pre-menstrual syndrome.
- It also promotes healing of wounds and burns, and can accelerate the regenerative process following both medical and cosmetic surgery.
Veronica Tatarciuc provides MLD therapy alongside a number of other holistic therapies and massage, click here for more information about Veronica and treatments available. Typically, this is a full body treatment that lasts 60 – 90minutes depending on requirements.
MLD is also incorporated in reflexology sessions with Charmaine Clarke, click here to find out more.
