Introducing: Helen Parsons, Allergy Therapist

We’re very pleased to announce that today is our first day working with Helen Parsons, an Allergy Therapist who initially qualified to teach Food Studies and Nutrition.

Helen is a registered Allergy Therapist and is a member of the British Institute for Allergy and Environmental Therapy.

Background: All Systems of the body can be affected by foods, environmental, and chemical sensitivities, which can cause unpleasant symptoms and illnesses.

We often try to adjust to these, live with them and put up with them. Medication may help but not get to the cause of the problem. The Symptoms just keep reoccurring.

Symptoms and illnesses experienced may include:-

  • Continual tiredness and low energy levels
  • Mood swings
  • Irritability
  • Inability to concentrate and think clearly
  • Asthma
  • Eczema
  • Itching
  • Migraine
  • Headaches
  • Catarrh
  • Bloating
  • Digestive problems
  • Constipation
  • Diarrhoea
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
  • Wind
  • Thrush
  • Cystitis
  • PMT
  • Difficultly with loosing weight

The method of testing is called Applied Kinesiology which uses muscle resistances. Applied Kinesiology has its origins partly in chiropractice and partly in Acupuncture although no needles are used in this method of testing. It is pain free and non-invasive.

What to expect: On your first appointment you will be tested for sensitivities to 50 different foods and environmental and chemical substances that we come in to contact with every day.

You will also be tested for vitamin and mineral deficiencies and any weaknesses within the endocrine system which may be contributing to the symptoms you are experiencing.

Before testing a full case history will be taken. After testing you will be given written details of any sensitivities and deficiencies you have. You will also be given advice on how to avoid your sensitivities, supplied with supplements to address any deficiencies and given sound nutritional advice to restore good health and well-being.

All patients will be monitored and supported after their initial consultation. A follow-up appointment may be necessary.

If you’d like to find out more about Natural Allergy Testing, you can contact Helen Parsons direct on 01531 670 746. Helen is available just 3 days per month here at Woolpit Complementary and it is advised that you speak to Helen directly, if you wish to book an appointment.

    Hi Helen,
I wondered if you could call me on 07875022060 please.

My grandson is 17 years old. He has this red rash on his face that is very itchy, sometimes it’s dry and itchy. He has been to woolpit health centre and his GP has referred him to WSH which he undertook some blood tests, which I’m pleased to say they have come back ‘normal’.
I was thinking for him to have an allergy test to try and eliminate any potential conditions for him to manage. The rash is knocking his confidence, his self esteeme and social interaction.

I understand you have a practice in woolpit. If you could give me an idea of cost too, that would be great.

    Many thanks
