Introducing… Tracey Nunn, Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Introducing… Tracey Nunn, Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) can be a valuable adjunct for recovery after surgery, certain cancers as well as treating lymphoedema. It can also help to improve our overall sense of wellbeing and support people during weight loss.

We have worked with Tracey for just under 2 years and in that time, it seems that there is an almost endless list of reasons for seeking MLD and decongestion therapy.

Why Manual Lymphatic Drainage?

I became a practitioner because for many years I had Lymphoedema and had never received any advice on how to manage it. I had extensive surgery with very little aftercare.

Through some local research my mother found a lady locally who was an expert in Lymphoedema. I visited her and she opened my eyes to the condition. Through her I gained knowledge and understanding and found myself feeling I had been pushed into a treatment plan which was not the best for me.

I learned how to successfully manage my condition and gained much knowledge which inspired me to train to become a MLD practitioner, to help people understand their condition and teach them to manage what can be a life changing problem.

What does ‘health’ mean to you?

Enjoyment. Everyone has different abilities but if you can enjoy the things that you love to do, this is when you feel at your best. Being happy and smiling as often as you can in a day, will keep the ‘happy hormones’ flowing.

Bonus Music Question: favourite song of all time?

My favourite song is Native New Yorker by Odyssey. It always brings a huge smile to my face as it reminds me of many happy times, dancing the night away with my best friend, when I was younger.

This month we will post lots of information about MLD and complementing therapies. We’ll show you why we believe it to be beneficial on multiple levels and round up the latest research to support our confidence in MLD.
